A support worker, or carer, lends a helping hand to people with physical or intellectual disabilities, assisting them with their everyday tasks. The job is wonderfully diverse and full of different responsibilities.

Support workers assist with personal care tasks like showering, getting dressed, eating, and taking medication. They also offer practical help with things like transportation, daily chores, and cooking meals (yes, that includes grocery shopping too!).

But that’s not all! Support workers provide essential social interaction, taking clients out into the community to boost their social life and enjoyment.

On top of everything, support workers offer much-needed emotional support. They spend a lot of time with their clients and often become like close friends or trusted allies. These strong bonds make support workers an indispensable part of their clients’ lives.
